Our ProgramsKids MMA Kids MMA is a self-defense based program for children ages 5-13. This program blends Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and basic strikes and strike defense. We focus on discipline and self-control in our classes in an attempt to not only teach the art, but the philosophy behind it. We align ourselves with the parents and are involved in reactions to scholastic and social behavior. This program places equal importance on the teaching of martial arts and the building of character in our students. Our goal is to build confident and respectful young men and women with the tools to succeed in any avenue of life. Women’s Kickboxing Women’s Kickboxing is a great class designed to teach women self defense while getting an incredible cardio workout. We teach techniques derived from Muay Thai Kickboxing and teach them in a class designed specifically for women. This is a great way to lose weight, build muscle, and learn powerful self defense techniques all at the same time. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) was popularized in the United States by Royce Gracie in the early UFC’s. The principles of BJJ allow a smaller opponent to overcome a larger opponents strength using leverage, counter movement, and superior positioning. BJJ is characterized by its submission holds as seen in Mixed Martial Arts competition. This is the safest and easiest way to end a fight or violent attack…apply a choke or joint lock, forcing your opponent to submit. All of the techniques in BJJ are taught by an experienced staff that will first teach the importance of control in practicing these techniques to ensure the safety of our students and training partners. Submission Grappling Submission Grappling is similar to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at its core, minus the traditional kimono or gi. Submission grappling separates itself though by adding different submission attempts that are not allowed while wearing the gi. The stand-up element in Submission grappling here at NextGen MMA combines freestyle and Greco-roman wrestling. The fast pace matches blending wrestling with the submissions of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu create this exciting hybrid style. Submission Grappling as a sport is growing at a rapid pace. Professional leagues are beginning to surface featuring Submission Grappling and tournaments are featuring pro divisions with cash prizes for this growing sport. Video Judo Judo is the most widely practiced Martial Art in the world, and the second most played sport in the world. In 1964 Mens Judo competition became a part of the World Olympics, with Womens Judo following in 1992. Derived from Jiu Jitsu, Judo focuses on throws (nage-waza) perfected by its creator Jigoro Kano. Judo training emphasizes mental, moral, and character development along with physical training. Our Instructors stress the principles of leverage, balance, and re-directing force and momentum to take down your opponent. Video
Muay Thai Kickboxing Muay Thai is widely accepted as one of the most effective striking arts in existence. Muay Thai utilizes hands, feet, elbows, and knees to strike an opponent from a distance and in the clench. Muay Thai is called “the science of the eight limbs” although it utilizes the entire body. Our Muay Thai program focuses on a lot of pad work teaching you how to use all “eight Limbs” to attack and defend. As you advance in the program you will spar with your training partners learning to apply the learned techniques in the ring and in real life situations. Video
Mixed Martial Arts Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), as popularized by the UFC, combines all the disciplines we teach to create the ultimate in combat sports. MMA is the most realistic expression of martial arts and is the truest test of a fighter’s skill. Being that it combines grappling, striking, and takedowns, as a student you must spend the appropriate time learning them all. When interested in fighting MMA we will design a training regiment that specifically works on your strengths and weaknesses to create a balanced fight game. Here at NextGen MMA we carefully guide you through the necessary training steps to become an ultimate fighter. Video

Rick Macauley Rob Mudrak is an amazing competitor and an even more impressive instructor. I am very proud of his progression in this sport and was even more proud to make him my first brown belt. Rob has very detail oriented technique and is able to teach that same attention to detail to his students. I highly recomend NextGen MMA to anyone considering training in the West Deptford area. |
